Support Stacie Author Auction Starts Tonight!

That's right, TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!

Now, I've talked about it before, but here's a quick recap:

The auction is to raise money for Stacie Holeman, to help her cover medical bills from battling both breast and ovarian cancer because she's uninsured. You can learn more about the Support Stacie campaign here at the main web site, on Myspace, here on LJ (supportstacie), and if you're Twitter inclined you can follow @SupportStacie.

The auction is currently mulitfandom -- you can find the list of authors and fandoms here, or feel free to check out the offers avaliable.

The auction starts TONIGHT AT 11:59 CDT. Because of Daylight Savings Time, that is UTC/GMT -5.

There are some really great authors signed up for this (myself excluded, of course), so seriously, go take a look.

I have three lots up for auction:
One Merlin 2,500 word minimum fic.
One Doctor Who 2,500 word minimum fic.
One Torchwood 2,500 word minimum fic.

And as an added incentive, I'm offering one 100 word drabble for all bids of $10 or more. In any fandom I'm into.

I will also be writing a 1,000 word minimum ficlet for the second-place bidders if they donate their final bid offer to the auction.

Auctions open tonight, 11:59 PM CDT. The Whoniverse bidding closes at 8 PM CDT, while the Merlin lot closes at 10 PM CDT.

Well that's true. Although most seemed to have the sense to limit themselves to one fic and some drabbles...I seemed to have totally lost my mind and offered 4 fics and umm...40 drabbles I think...

I was bored and slightly insane when I filled out the registration form. But honestly, as someone with a physical problem that requires medical attention that can't get it because it also prevents me from working, I'm very sympathetic to this. My problems at least won't kill me though...hers will.

I know what you mean. I had health insurance with my job but when I lost my job, I lost my health insurance. I need surgery myself but with no way of paying for it, it's not an option.

Yeah, we don't need a national health plan for all. Not when we have fan-fics writers auctioning off their skills to pay for one woman's medical bills. *insert heavy sarcasm here*

Gwen and I have a very... volatile personal relationship. I go through cycles where I actually sort of like her, and then the next week I can't stand the sight of her.

However, this is for charity and therefore the customer is always right. If asked to do anti-Gwen, I will do anti-Gwen. And yes, if asked to do a Gwack fic, I will do a Gwack fic. (please though, seriously, don't make me)

OMG I understand. Some threads are already up over 100 -- someone has one that's at 300 now.

(I don't know if I should be insulted or relieved that mine are still low. I think if they went over 100, I may just freeze up)

Can I make an offer here for you/teachwriteslash on the Merlin auction. If teach would like to still donate her bid I'd like to offer to let her have the 2500 word minimum, since I also won the Torchwood auction, and I'd take the 1000 word minimum.

I had planned to place my bid at about 10 til to give teach a chance to out bid but the server went down and I kept trying send my bid and eventually kept it up even though I was pretty sure it wouldn't go through, then I was surprised to have it go through at the last minute.

I've also pmed teach to let her know my offer.
