Ianto heard Jack muffle his laugh in his hand as he looked down into the box.

“Ahem. Let me guess,” Jack ventured. He probably was wearing that damn grin. “Your niece.”

Ianto made an affirmative noise, not quite trusting himself to speak.

“The one that made you the tie. That you charged Torchwood for.”

The younger man finally found his voice. “Whatever gave that away, Jack?”

Jack reached around him and pulled one of the two bright pink galoshes out of the box Ianto had unwrapped. “No idea. Bet she didn’t make these, though.”

Ianto sighed. “She was trying to be helpful.”

“Gonna wear them?”

“Only when she comes over.”

Jack's putting her up to it, isn't he? Jack's totally hinting to the piece how much Ianto loves pink. I can see it now.

Also, why is there no Torchwood/Primeval crossover fic? They have a dinosaur. In Cardiff. Is Cardiff weird enough nobody notices? (I mean, in LA? Sure! Who's notice? Heck, walk your T-Rex at noon, as long as it only eats tourists nobody will mind!)

Yeah, the sick combined with the foot (now in cast-boot-thing that I can take off at night OMG, my heel, how I missed you!!!) combined with everyone being home for two snow days kinda wiped me out. I'm 3 days behind on everything, including Auntie Teach.

I thought about such a crossover, but 1) I don't really know the characters in Primeval enough to write. I 'dabble' in that show. 2) I realized there might be problems in describing the difference between the Rift and whatever the heck they call it in Primeval (all I know is it's not the Rift).
