The tie was already gone when Jack managed to get up to his office. Gone and the first two buttons undone, revealing a very enticing column of pale skin that Jack dearly wanted to kiss, suck, sink his teeth into.

"I shut down internal CCTV," Ianto informed him. "Scheduled maintenance." He clicked the stopwatch, smiling a little. "9 minutes, 56 seconds. Well-timed, sir."

"I think that you can drop the sir, Ianto." He stepped closer, watching Ianto swallow heavily. "Are you sure about this?"

"Absolutely."

Jack reached out and took one of Ianto's hands in both of his. "You're shaking."

"Been a while," Ianto admitted. "Even longer with a man."

Conflict raged in Jack, relief that the archivist knew all the steps and jealousy at not being innocent Ianto's first clashing unexpectedly. It took a moment to get under control. "If you feel like this is some sort of duty -- "

"Jack." Just his name, said with such perfect exasperation that it nearly undid the Captain. "I know what I'm doing," Ianto reassured him, stepping forward to put his free hand on Jack's shoulder. "We both need this."

"Oh, so you're using me," Jack teased, trying to lighten the situation.

"We're just finding a mutual safe harbor in a storm," the younger man said, giving him a soft smile. "No strings."

"There are always strings," the immortal informed him, moving one arm to wrap around Ianto's waist. "You're part of my team, and I daresay you're a friend."

Ianto's smile widened. "You can dare that much," he said, his voice dropping a little as Jack's face moved closer to him.

"So... strings. At least of one kind." He paused, his mouth scant centimeters from Ianto's. "Last out, Jones. You sure you're up for it?"

The younger man in his arms leaned forward to brush his lips against Jack's. "I think I can handle it."

I love that Jack wasn't Ianto's first. I hate when people write him as sweet, innocent and naive.

Bribe accepted. Give me a short while to post - but don't say I didn't warn you. The cliff hanger's a bit of a doozy.

Ianto can play sweet and innocent, but he's definitely not.

I love how you capture that this is a mutual thing . .

[identity profile] gracie-musica.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I like to think that it's a mutual beginning, both agree to no strings and then they just fall in love with each other.

I like this post:TKKS ficlet. I like how confident Ianto appears and that Jack keeps giving him outs.

[identity profile] gracie-musica.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! Ianto is very confident in the scene, so I imagined that bravado would continue, and I get the feeling Jack prefers (very) willing partners, not someone who feels they have a duty to do.

Oh this was really good. Very good voices and excellent scenario.

Thier voices are in my head when I was reading! And it was short and sweet just what I needed for the end and start of another day.

Very Hot and I too loved the voices. I can definitely see this as the way it happened in the show. It seems very real and I love the fact that Ianto isn't as innocent as some people think. Also, I just wanted to tell you that I think this: "So... strings. At least of one kind." He paused, his mouth scant centimeters from Ianto's. "Last out, Jones. You sure you're up for it?", is one of the hottest, sexiest, and loveliest lines I've read in a long time (don't know why, it just struck me and I kept going back and reading it over).

Great job again,

*snickers* It's sort of "Yeah, that'll work" isn't it?

Thanks for reading!
