I'm sure you've all heard about Amazon by now. And, to be honest, darling [livejournal.com profile] teachwriteslash puts it far better than I ever could.

Here's what I did:

Photobucket

They're not getting another dime out of me.

I'll certainly voice my displeasure to Amazon. Unfortunately, though, they are my only option for buying certain things - ie, John's books. I just can't afford the $65 plus dollars that I'd have to pay locally, not to mention the wait for the items to be stocked in the first place. :(

I signed the petition and won't be buying anything from Amazon anymore either. They are just stoopid!

As for the books, are they the latest Torchwood novels? Ig so I have to get them from my Oz supplier.

Sandy

And there I was happily thinking we'd evolved. They've lost my business too. Thanks for the headsup

Thank you for the link to the petition! I also read the link to [livejournal.com profile] teachwriteslash and it's suddenly a glitch?! Amazon was not all that anyway, it was just convenient.

I go there to listen to song previews some times and I am not even going to do that any more, Amazon is dead in my life. I'll go back to iTunes which I hate but right now, hate to a lesser degree than amazon.

Thanks for the headsup, now I'll never buy with Amazon, ever.

I live practically at the end of the world. Our University bookshop and Borders are the two best choices for me. Hopefully I'll get more convenient and cheap sources when I move to Australia.

Applaudes. Well done. I hope more people do that and they have a serious dip in their profits

If they reverse this situation and offer up a very groveling apology, I might consider shopping with them again. But I'm fairly sure that I will not be giving them another dime.

There's a local restaurant that I won't eat at because one of the owners is a city councilman who introduced a resolution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. I wonder how badly his business dipped as a result of it.

*sigh* stupid people. There's just nothing more I can say about that, but it looks like I'll have to stop buying from them.

You and Thrace have suggested I was eloquent ... Thrace's word. I'm not eloquent ... I am pissed OFF!

I'm the daughther of a Vietnam veteran who sacrificed his health because he believed in freedom and equality.

The idea that this was a "glitch" does not fly ... coding has to be created and approved. There needs to be an apology, and as I suggested when I cancelled my rather large pre-order of TW/DW and other things - a nice donation to LAMBDA would not go amiss.

I have heard that this was done by someone other than Amazon, to damage them for the lulz/chase away the customers/because it's some looney with too much time.
However, I will refrain from buying anything from Amazon until there is a clearly stated reason that this happened, and it is independently verified as an attack.

I did the *EXACT* same thing. Then ordered them from the book depository.

What an amazing overreaction to a completely insignificant issue. I am truly impressed.
