I find that some of the more well-known writers can be a bit... um... aloof. But there are also a good number of really talented established authors, like yourself, cupnjava, and moonsilverfic who are down to earth and nice... You're the good apples the sweeten the barrel. ^_^
I do have an awesome beta. She's smart, kind, a wonderful person and (like yourself) a very talented writer, but I'm afraid that there's only so much she can do. No one can take chicken scratch and turn it into Shakespeare. *sigh*
I also beta for her... and that's been fun... but she is so talented that I never feel like I help her very much. *shrugs* But still, I enjoy the beta process -- and she seems to enjoy it too -- so it works for us. *^_^*
Reading it aloud? Hmmm... you know, I've never tried that before. I'll try it on the next fic I write. ^_^ Thanks!
