And I like that it is the death of the Doctor that has them make the final decision to end it all.
Technically it's not. Their linear time he's been dead for quite a while. The list at the end was of people they wanted to go back and see, or to say good-bye to. They saved the Doctor for last, because he would have been hardest to track down (they couldn't pop up when they KNEW he would be somewhere, because the only times they were sure of where he was they were with him!)
