They'll always wonder "What If", who doesn't? ...but they are not drowning in regret, because they made the best choice they could with what they were given.
...and I have to say that in their place, I would have made the same choice too, especially after the child that Jack had already buried. If I do have a child in similar circumstances, I couldn't just completely let it go even if someone else is raising it, and I'll still feel responsible when things are going wrong, when I don't have the power to make sure what I did chose to bring into the world would be safe. Hence, I would chose not to.
